FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

2 med. green tomatoes
1c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Oil for frying

Slice tomatoes 1/4 inch thick. Season cornmeal with salt and pepper. Dredge tomatoes in cornmeal. Fry immediately in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
